Frequently asked Questions
Q. How many sheets do I need?
A. We recommend 2-6 sheets for a personal or 6-pack cooler, 6-10 sheets for a larger cooler and 1 sheet to be used for every 7-8 litres of cooler space.
Q. How do I activate Duo-Therm sheets?
A. Duo-Therm starts as a flat sheet and absorbs water through special perforation technology in the surface of the product. This is achieved by scrunching the sheets between your hands whilst immersed in warm water for a few minutes until the air bubbles have escaped. After scrunching leave the product in water for around an hour to eliminate any un-hydrated polymers on the surface of the product. If this is not done you may notice a slippery film on the surface of the product. The hydration process is now complete and the cells will expand ready for the product to be placed in the microwave or freezer.
Q. Can more than 1 sheet be scrunched at a time?
A. Yes, if you are scrunching them in a sink or basin 3 or 4 sheets can be scrunched and soaked at a time. For large quantities other solutions are available, see tips in the “How to Use” section.
Q. Can I use ice with Duo-Therm?
A. No! You should try to avoid mixing Duo-Therm sheets with ice. Ice melts faster and will absorb the energy from Duo-Therm sheets resulting in the sheets losing their chill faster than if used alone.
Q. Can I use Duo-Therm with food?
A. This unique product is non-toxic and perfect to use in lunches and in keeping food and beverages cool.

Q. Can I use Duo-Therm for shipping goods?
A. Yes! They are great for shipping and legal to use in freighting on airplanes. It is just as good for transporting temperature sensitive products by road. This product is being used already by international courier services.
Q. Where should I store my Duo-Therm sheets?
A. When not using your Duo-Therm sheets, store them in an open plastic bag in a cupboard or freezer. They are virtually maintenance free, but can be run under the tap every so often to maintain or regain hydration.
Q. Why do my Duo-Therm sheets sometimes feel sticky?
A. Sheets left in an air tight box/cooler for more than 24 hours which have reached room temperature will sweat, and will require the product to be immersed in tap water. Dry thoroughly after washing and place back in the freezer or open container. Dried soap residue in the sink can also mix with the polymer to create a sticky feeling. Clean your sink and place Duo-Therm back in fresh water. Then dry thoroughly and place back in freezer or open container. Note also it is important when first hydrating the sheets, and after scrunching to leave the product in water for around an hour to eliminate any un-hydrated polymers on the surface of the product. If this is not done you may notice a slippery film on the surface of the product.
Q. Can I cut the sheet?
A. Duo-Therm sheets can be cut to size into half or quarter size sheets, strips, or single cells. This can be performed on either the hydrated on flat sheet.
